I am a Junior at Redondo Union High School with a strong interest in science and the humanities. As a student in the PLTW Biomedical pathway, my goal is to build a solid foundation in the health sciences to prepare for a career in medicine. I aim someday to help those who are less fortunate, and to pave paths for a healthier society.
My main focus in school is the health sciences. Through Redondo Union High School's PLTW (Project Lead The Way) Biomedical pathway, I am getting hands-on experience with human physiology, cellular biology, and medical research.
I am fascinated by how the human body works, especially how our environment and daily habits affect our long-term health. This pathway is my first step toward a pre-med track in college. Ultimately, I want to use what I learn to work in the medical field impact people directly as patients, as well as indirectly via accessible educational applications.
While my career goals are in medicine, my hobbies keep me active and help me look at the world from different perspectives.
Here is a log of some of my favorite/most notable activities. Getting outside is how I reset, letting me balance my studies with exercise.
Photography. Photo means light, and -graphy means to draw or write. Whether I be taking fast shots during races and robotics events, or using ICM (intentional camera movement) to bend light, I'm always trying to find new ways to use light as my paint upon the canvas that is my camera's sensor.
Reading lets me shut out the real world in a way. Each book is a gateway to another time and place, whether it be a moment in the past or a fantastical world. Learning to analyze and understand texts pushes me to hold multiple perspectives in my mind at once, even if they compete with one-another.
